As mentioned above, the member login and step-by-step process to register is a little long-winded. That is because PersonalSpice.com have opted to bring the registration and profile creation stages together as one. You do all that at the same time as creating your username and you will find it a lengthy rigmarole before you get to step foot inside the site.
You start creating your profile during the registration process with questions and ticks boxes to choose from for about you, what you are looking for, some more about you and a description box to fill in. The create profile steps all seem very basic, as do the profile questions themselves. You even get the option to add an old school emoji smiling face to “spice up” your description. There’s no option to add a photo at this stage, but you do get the option once you have joined in the edit profile section.
While the basic plan is free and allows you to search for members, upgrading to a paid subscription is needed to be able to message those you are interested in. PersonalSpice.com offer only 6-month or 12-month subscriptions – something quiet offputting – at $55 and $80 respectively. The list the benefit of both being unlimited contacts, but the six month commitment will be something that turns people away from becoming a paid up member.
You can browse for members of PersonalSpice.com as a free member and search by city, search by area, age, sex and marital status which is interesting if you are looking to date women or men who are attached already. How to search on PersonalSpice is each, you just make the choices from the drop down options for the various questions. If you find someone you like, hitting the Email Me button starts a direct messaging conversation.
If you no longer want to feature on the site, you will need to know how to cancel PersonalSpice.com account. One option you have is to hide it. To do that you enter your account and choose the option to hide your profile. It will remain hidden for three months before being deleted altogether, unless in the meantime you choose to unhide it and make it live once again. You can alternatively opt to delete it immediately, this option being in the same place button via the delete profile button. If you subscribe to one of the monthly tariffs, your account will not automatically renew unless you agree to it.
PersonalSpice.com isn’t the best dating site out there. It’s basic, lacks the attractiveness and usability of other domains and appears to have been created as a spin-off of an Australian equivalent. It seems very much that it is stuck in a bit of a time warp from five or six years ago from a design perspective. The membership base isn’t going to make you go ‘wow’ but there are genuine users who you can connect with. It is just a case of whether that six-month subscription is worthy shelling out for. We couldn’t see an obvious reason why you would still be using the site six months from now, and there are better options available if you in the United States and seeking a partner.
