CREATION OF A PROFILE
As mentioned earlier, even if you decide to manually create an account, you will still be able to connect your social media accounts, such as Instagram and Facebook. This feature is great as you can select a great picture to use on your profile. If you can’t decide on a profile image straight away, you can choose to skip this and upload at a later date. However, it is worth noting, that the site has an extensive screening process, the matchmaking algorithm will not include you if your profile image is missing. It is a pro and a con really, especially if you just want to test it out first, but the good thing about this strict moderation is that it significantly reduces the number of fake profiles.
Creating your EastMeetEast profile is just as simple as the registration, but the downside means the profiles have limited details. The process is:
1. Fill the About Me section, it’s roughly one paragraph
2. Personal details, this section is about your cultural background and lifestyle
3. Connect to social media (optional), this will allow you to share some of your favorite Insta images!
4. Interests, simply list your interests or hobbies
5. Sports, a lot of the urban singles are quite active but don’t worry if you don’t play sports you can skip this section
6. Click Submit, and voilà your profile is complete
Although, it isn’t an extensive profile creator; how many details you choose to include is entirely up to you. Again, like the profile picture requirement, your account will be invisible unless you fill the required sections and upload an approved profile image.
